The Ministry of Interior was formed in 1970 according to the decree No. (5) for the year 1970 stipulating the functions of the ministries and other government organizations in the country. Ministry of Interior continued since that time its functions and missions providing peace and security and organizing police forces guaranteeing the protection of national security and maintaining safety and security of nationals and expatriates as well along with taking all necessary measures to prevent the happenings of crimes and disclosing the secrets of committed crimes in addition to taking care of nationality related affairs, issuing travel documents, organizing expatriates entry to the country and their residence and organizing the prison.

Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs
The Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs is one of the important ministries in the State of Qatar that applies Islam both as a methodology and ideology. It cares for the affairs of Muslims through different means: in the field of Da’wah (call to Allah), in running the mosques, maintaining and refurbishing them, and supervising them for the sake of the wellbeing of the Muslims, both the citizens and residents.
Its importance lies in reflecting the religious feature of the State through the various activities of its different departments acting in the field of Da’wah and propagating the human culture in its agreed-upon magnanimous values. In addition to the embodiment of social solidarity through the Sunni Endowment and Zakat Fund aids as well as communicating with the Muslims through the Internet. On the administrative level, the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs worked towards developing human resources and raising the efficiency of its staff with up-to-date courses in keeping up with the digital revolution.

Ministry of Public Health
Due to the urgent need to regulate healthcare practitioners in the healthcare sector in the State of Qatar, the Medical Licensing Department was established as a department of the Ministry of Health under Article No. (9) Of Law No. (13) Of the year 2002, and its responsibilities are defined under article No. (13) of the above mentioned law. Its mission is to ensure that healthcare practitioners are competent and safe to deliver quality healthcare services in Qatar.

Ministry of Culture and Sports
The Ministry of Culture and Sports is responsible for preservation of culture, arts and heritage highlighting its national and Islamic characteristics, preparation of studies and researches- related to it. It is also responsible for organizing programs and celebrating national events, Regulating license to own and establish radio, television and audiovisual broadcasting stations, monitoring the press, publications and broadcast materials and issuing license for them.
His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, formed The Ministry of Sports and Culture by an Emiri decree issued at the Amiri Diwan on 17/4 / 1437H corresponding to 27/01/2016 by merging the Ministries of Youth& Sports and the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage. The ministry focuses on the youth to develop their skills, and help them to perform their duties and raise the level of sports in the country to the point of excellence.
The ministry will have general supervision of sports, youth and concerned authorities in the State to support and coordinate their works it is also responsible for setting conditions and standards for the establishment of clubs, centers, committees and associations for youth and sports and issuing license for them.

Ministry of Commerce and Industry
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry is responsible for overseeing commercial and industrial activities for the State of Qatar, directing these activities in accordance with the requirements of national development. The Ministry’s mandate includes business development needed to attract investments, and support and develop exports. Other responsibilities are developing methods and procedures for providing public services to the business and investment sector, regulating the practice of trade professions, registering the commercial and investment establishments, issuing the necessary licenses to carry out their activities, and supervising the regulation and control of markets in its area of competence.
Taking the necessary measures to protect consumers, combat commercial fraud, safeguard competition and prevent monopolistic practices, as well as protect intellectual property rights is an essential aspect of the Ministry’s mandate.
The Ministry is spearheading efforts to develop general policies to promote industrialization and national industries, developing and exploiting its existing industrial zones, and proposing the establishment of new zones.

Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour & Social Affairs
Since its establishment, the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour & Social Affairs has undertaken the responsibility of achieving public objectives of administrative development, labour and employment affairs and social protection of citizens in State of Qatar. It is considered one of the service- providing ministries that seek to provide services to citizens and foreign residents.
Administrative Development Affairs department- contributes to the preparation of the budget of the first section, development of human resources information systems, development of human resources planning and policies, employment of citizens, and regulation and quality.
Business Affairs – follow-up of labour affairs, international labour relations, develop policies and employ of expatriate labour, study of labour complaints through labour relations administration and take a decision in their relation. This is in addition to labor, occupational safety and health inspection and creating a balance in the labour market.
Social affairs- contribute, through the departments of social security, family affairs, housing, associations and private institutions, in providing social welfare to citizens who are surrounded by social and economic problems which they cannot cope with and overcome and make them rely on their own potentials.

Ministry of Transport and Communications
In recognition of the significant role of transport and ICT in building a robust knowledge-based economy in light of Qatar National Vision 2030, the Ministry of Transport and Communications was established as per Emiri Order No. 1 of 2016 amending the formation of the Council of Ministers and naming HE Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti as the Minister of Transport and Communications.
Emiri Decree No. 4 of 2016 sets the mandates and functions of the Ministry of Transport and Communications, as follows:
• Organizing land and maritime transport businesses;
• Developing and improving transport services, studying their projects, and supervising and following up their implementation in order to achieve the expansion of economic activity and serve the requirements of the national development scale;
• Overseeing and developing the information and communications technology sector to serve the national development requirements;
• Fostering a competitive environment that is conducive to investments;
• Securing and enhancing the efficiency of ICT infrastructure and developing the next generation thereof;
• Raising awareness of the importance of ICT and how to use it safely to improve peoples’ lives, towards building a knowledge community based on digital economy; and

Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics
His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani has issued an Emiri Decree no (70) for the year 2018 regarding the establishment of Planning and Statistics Authority and assigning his Excellency Dr. Saleh Bin Mohammed Al-Nabit as President of Planning and Statistics Authority. Planning and Statistics Authority is competent of the development of the overall vision for the state, in cooperation with the concerned authorities; preparation of national development strategies; follow-up of their implementation, in coordination with the concerned authorities; preparation of studies and population policies related to such strategies; supporting the planning process in government agencies; working on linking development priorities to the state budget; monitoring the progress of implementation of plans. It is also mandated to establish an integrated statistical system; conduct, organize and supervise formal statistical operations; implement various censuses and surveys; and disseminate statistical data and products.
